2009/2010 Season

W.B.R wishies to welcome Barry Lee Racewear as a main sponsor for the season!

25-10-09 Canberra Speedway

W.B.R headed to Canberra speedway on sunday for its first sheduled race of the season. With the 2 cars racing the same series this year both boys were keen to have a run against each other for the first time since the act title last year.

Lee, now ACT#7 was trying his freshly built jettco motor out for the first time and was very impresive to say the least, his speed off the restarts and acceleration was hard to match.

Heat 1 Lee placed first followed by murray johnson, scott wallace, glen douglas, and anthony wilson.

Heat 2 Lee placed first, scott second

Heat 3 Scott placed first lee second

Feature Lee placed first, a impressive murray johnson second, scott third after a small roll over.

We took on board some new set ups which we have found worked really well in both cars and cant wait to get to the next meeting. due to another commitment both boys will miss the South Coast title at Nowra on the 7th of November.

16/4/09-ACT TITLE PREPARATIONS

W.B.R WA#6 car arrived in Canberra earlier this week in preparation for the ACT title been held on Saturday the 18th of april.

It will be the first time the 2 cars have competed and raced together as a team. Crew chief Keith will have his work cut out for him with the added maintenance of a second car on the night.

With Lee coming off some very good form and showing consistant speed at the last round in WA, he will be looking for a podium finish no doubt. Both boys are looking forward to line up on the track together for the first time this season, and too see who will win the family battle between them.

Scott recently has show his new hyper will be another one to watch out for on the night, with less then 5 drives this season his improvement in the new car is getting better every lap.

Wallace Brothers Racing will be selling W.B.R  t-shirts in the coming months and next season and can be viewed worn on the crew on saturday night. With the designs costs and a supplier still been finalised prices and sizes will be available as more details come to hand.

WBR WA 6 Lee Wallace heads to kalgoorlie speedway on the 4th of april for the next round of the west coast series, and in a massive effort for the end of the season his car than gets straight on a truck and heads to canberra for final preparations for the ACT title on the 18th of april,,

The team decided to bring Lee back to the ACT for the title to support the club which got him a start in speedway. The car leaves and arrives in canberra with just enough time for crew chief Keith Wallace to do the final setup's to both cars in order for WBR to have a 2 car assault on the title this season, both Scott and Lee are looking forward to racing each other again and hope for some good results at the home track.

Scotty recently showed his pace at the Goulburn speedway which is to host the title by basically taking the night in convincing style, the boys are excited heading into it both looking for an end to the season in style in front of the home crowd,

Lee will than leave the car in ACT for the following season with both cars base being canberra for next year as the team looks towards it maiden effort at the oval express. With Canberra alot closer to the tracks in victoria than perth it is a more viable option for the team to head it up from the same base in coming season.

18/2/09

WA #6 Lee Wallace came off a good couple of weeks racing last weekend, starting 2 weeks ago at northam speedway for the terry haulage west coast series Lee put his car on the third row for the feature having two 3rds and a 4th in the heats,

The car was on the pace all night untill a sprocket let go in the feature while running 5th and ended the night, the weekend proved good cartime for the upcoming racer with the WA title being held the following weekend

The WA title saw some big names with 40 drivers entering the event and only 24 spots in the A main it was bound to be hard and fast racing.

Heat 1 saw Lee start off the back of the bus with the cars being divided in 2 groups of 20 for the opening night. Lee got to 6th position where he stayed which was a pleasing result coming out of 18, and realising the right rear was flat with 1 lap to go he stayed on the gas knowing the points were vital for the feature on night 2

Heat 2 and 3 were average with both mid-pack starts, The crew didnt quite get on top of the setup and basically piloted the car to finish in the position where he started,,

Night 2 was two semi mains with 20 cars in each, only 12 were to qualify from each semi to transfer to the main event, after qualifying on row 6 for the semi Lee had some work cut out to put the car in the main, getting to 8th the car shut down when the battery failed and he had a DNF , with the WA#6 being the last car to DNF it was first reserve for the feature ,, luckily he went into the feature right off the back of the bus in 24th,, getting up to 15th he showed promising signs of what is to come only to run out of laps and stay in 15th

" i am pleased with our efforts this week especially with the stock motor showing the big guys we are not there to make up numbers" he said

WBR WA#6 would like to thank

2-8-08

WA#6 made the venture to Northam speedway last night for a local round of racing. With the daunting high banked corners lee felt confidence in the set up of the car thanks to his pit crew. Lee started heat 1 from 5th position and managed to get up to 4th before gearbox problems and a snapped chain on the final lap put him out of contiention for the finish of the race. With no spare chain links lee was forced to retire for the night.

26-10-08

With the debut of the first new car WA#6 last night at Kwinnana Motorplex last night, Lee managed to unseat a left rear tyre in HT1 going into the first turn, and then after a slight spin he was collected by another car which put him out for HT1. after some minor repairs he was back on the track for HT2, lee took some time in this race to adjust the the new car and the different set up for the rutted out motorplex and lost a few places but still finished. HT3 lee managed to finish mid pack amounst almost 30 on the starting grid and was pleased with the result and the new car. Lee would espically like to thank Dave Heddington from Hyper Racing for his assistance at the track along with Keith Wallace for travelling from Canberra to help out, and Mark Milburn.

8-10-08

Scott and Lee are proud to anounce that the 2008/9 season they will be driving Hyper cars with 06/07 R6 engines.

This season Lee will be staying on based in Perth WA for the majority of the season and Scott based out of Canberra ACT

With the same chassis and engine combos we are hoping to share set ups and try to progress further together in the sport
